The Challenge

Working with Flying Solo brought a new set of challenges unlike many we have seen before. The company needed a new platform that could interface their online store with their retail store, all while maintaining consistent inventory data across channels. The importance of these connections was also mirrored by the need to provide accurate product and sales data to its vendors/designers. We would need to build and integrate 3rd party systems to create a platform that could both serve Flying Solo’s employees as well as its vendors.

The Solution

Moving operations off Shopify and into a new system where we could better integrate with their retail operations was step 1. This would be a crucial step as we needed to streamline data into a dashboard that designers could access and manage their products, orders, and account information. As a vendor driven, subscription-based company, providing a smooth and easy to use system for its users was the core focus.

This migration involved transferring 1000’s of products from 100’s of vendors, as well as user accounts and associated data. We also delivered a new frontend experience, backend tools for store managers to manage endless inventory changes, a dashboard for designers to create products and manage sales, and integrations with AirTable to organize the large amounts of data that come with operations at this size.

Today, Flying Solo is leading in the Fashion space with its ability to provide a seamless onboarding experience to its designers, allowing them to focus on creating new stunning creations for the world to see. Post launch, we’ve seen overwhelmingly positive feedback, and we are building out new features to help grow Flying Solo’s ever-expanding ecosystem.
